One star for the excellent chips and 1 star for the lovely guy giving out tasters outside to promote sales, 1 star for the lovely guy inside serving me some chips to takeaway. Two wonderful staff. Minus 2 of the 5 stars for the horrendously rude woman, somewhere behind the counter that SHOUTED at the wonderful guy who was serving me, while i was still in the shop. I wanted something to wrap my chips in to keep them warm for the drive home. They're not allowed to wrap food, so i wanted a bag to put the cone of kids size chips in while i drove home. I put money down for a bag and the woman started screaming and shouting at the guy for doing that. It was my choice to have the cone of chips in a bag which i paid for. There are no signs of as far as I Could see to say that you have to bring containers for the food to takeaway or that you can't have your food wrapped. I would like a reply to this as i want to speak to the owners or head office as i have worked in retail all my life and I do not appreciate as a paying customer to hear the woman shouting at a member of staff like that, i also do not expect ANY member of staff anywhere i have worked to shout at another member of staff like that. I will not be going there again if that is her attitude to staff and customers and i will tell others to AVOID SCOFFS as long as she is there. Her downright nastiness and ignorance lets this chip shop down.

I can't comment on the negative reviews on here from about portion sizes and people being rude. I'm not local, but a regular tourist to the area over the past 30 plus years....But I've never tried Scoffs chips...today was the day! My experience was a cone of battered chips. They were very nice, the lady was polite to me when being served. Served quickly. No complaints really. Very naughty style chips...probably not very good for me but I thoroughly enjoyed them! Would recommend trying them. There not your bog standard chip shop chips for sure.

Without fail every year my partner and I visit Paignton we always go to Scoffs. Really nice and crunchy battered chips. Constantly busy so it's always fresh, depending the time you go there is a small queue but it quick service. Most staff are nice and friendly. Be careful when walking around to eat your chips as lots of seagulls will try and pinch the chips

Went to scoffs yesterday evening. Absaloutly lovely fish and chips and good service. We sat outside and enjoyed the views while we ate Will definitely go back .Well worth a visit .
