First time I got to Scotland I needed a car rental and I didn't know where to do it, after seeing several reviews on the internet I decided to try Arnold Clark. The prices may be a little higher than in other companies but this was the only one with the most fair price without asking a ridiculous deposit. All the process is pretty straightforward. The staff is nice and helpful. Rented 3 times from then already, didn't have a single problem. In one of these rentals the engine was stuttering when in high gears (it was a brand new car though) I phoned them explaining the situation, they're readily offered themselves to replace it, when i got there they offered me to take a better car without making any charges, obviously. Never had a complaint. Any future rentals I'm trusting them again for sure

Really good experience with this rental company. First of all we got a great rate online. Then they picked us up from the hotel instead of the airport which was really nice. At the checkin there were enough employees to avoid waiting lines. We booked a category 2 car and received a fantastic Mini as car for the next six days. Guess this was an upgrade :). We decided to reduce our risk to 0 for 70 pounds extra. Luckily we did this since we damaged one of the rims. Checking out was also smooth and the staff was fine with the damage. The understand the small roads with big lorries in Scotland. I would recommend reducing your risk to 0 anytime if you are not used to driving on the left side of the road.
Self drive duel control car is excellent value. Good assistance from staff and cleaning facilities during covid times
Prefer it to the bigger rental agencies, who take too much deposit off your credit card immediately and take way too long to return it. You're lucky if you get your deposit back in 4 weeks. More customer friendly options with Arnold Clark in that regard.
