My experience with Euopcar Glasgow Airport has been extremely positive. The gentleman at the desk could not have been more helpful. I recommend them to anyone travelling around Scotland.

Like many people I found the add ons at the point of pick up really unpleasant. The man serving me listed all the horrible things that could happen to me while driving and the consequences of not taking out their expensive daily insurance. I think this kind of fear mongering should stop. He made me feel so anxious about the whole process that I just wanted to cancel the car hire and get on a bus! Because I had booked the car hire through Easyjet and Cartrawler he wasn't interested at all in helping me do this. Eventually (after a ling flight and a very long wait to be served and a really unpleasant pick-up experience) I found much cheaper private insurance online and booked that instead. Even so, I barely used the car for what I had intended because of how worried the man had made me feel about the awful things that might happen to me. I think the customer service agents need a bit of training in customer service.
Bit disappointed after having completed everything online, they tried to trick me into paying extra for the excess waiver after I had clearly stated I didn't want it. Was told it was 'just 20' when in fact it was 23 PER DAY. The lady was nice and friendly though, it's a training thing I'm sure. Do not like this policy with Europcar To push extras especially when changing wording so it seems cheaper than it is.
We rented two mpv's, and paid the FULL insurance cover. We took care of the cars. Nevertheless the less, one of them had a slow puncher a day after we collected the cars, we wasted half a day to get the wheel replaced. When we were at the shop, we were also told to change the from tyre, as it was deemed to be dangerous. After our holiday, we dropped the cars off. When we left we were charged money from our credit card for not returning the car tidy -- which is obvious, after 1 week of use. We paid good money for renting the car, which wasn't matched by an equally good service.
Beware and avoid at all costs. Poor quality and filthy cars with barely legal tyres. Also they then try and put charges on your credit card when no charge should be made. Do not use Europcar.
