My first attempt to use Paisley taxis ended in an extremely disappointing and concerning experience. Whilst working as an essential worker in Paisley, I searched the web for local cabs and found their details confident the service would be of a high standard with Hackney cars being provided. I then uploaded the app and pre-booked a cab that afternoon, for a 2230 pick up in Paisley to my home in Glasgow. Confirmation of the booking shortly followed. At around 10.30pm, whilst standing outside at the pick-up point, I received a text from a mobile number stating that my taxi had been delayed but that I was a priority and my car would be with me asap. No taxi arrived, so I called the office but it was closed. I called the mobile number that I received the text from, however it just rang out. I waited a further 30 minutes (on a bitterly cold night) before calling other taxi firms, eventually getting one at 0030! I called Paisley taxis the day after the booking and spoke to the owner who was extremely unhelpful: He stated that no drivers were working at the time of the booking and anybody with common sense would have phoned to make the booking and not used the app! I was told the text message I received was automated. I then indicated that I had felt stranded and he insinuated that I was lying! I was genuinely astounded. I also pointed out that I could have been a vulnerable individual and without irony he replied that someone in that position wouldn’t use the app and call to make the booking, missing the fact that many favour app use due to a disability etc. Finally, he said that this had happened on previous occasions but still stubbornly couldn’t see the faults in the system and management of it. I plan to take this further with the relevant bodies. As a freelancer for national companies, I feel obligated to widely communicate this and hopefully stop this happening to others and certainly to anyone of a vulnerable nature.

After ringing the taxi company to be told that they have no card payment machines which I will add is fair enough.. walked down the road to a cash point then called back to book however feel I have been treated unfairly by this taxi company, was told it’s a 50 minute wait for a taxi to drive down like a minute to end of the road from paisley Gilmore street train station. Yet a whole bunch of your taxis simply waiting around doing nothing and I have a disabled child with me so that minute journey took us 7 minutes. Not a good first impression of Scotland and avoid this taxi company at all costs

We reserved a car for 3 am capable of transporting ourselves, our bags and two bicycles. The driver was punctual, professional and helpful with our gear. A great experience. We were bit concerned after reading the previous comments and our prior experiences with taxis from home (Vancouver). The only surprise was that it was cash only!
I used this service on three occasions. Drivers were punctual and helpful. I highly recommend.
