Queen Victoria was a very beloved monarch and reigned for probably the most prosperous time in British history. The British empire was the empire where the sun never set. There's many statues dedicated to her and a lot in Scotland, which is probably reasonable as she fealt most at home here. She visited Paisley on several occasions to great acclaim.
