The monument depicts Tannahill standing upright in portraiture pose and dressed as a gentleman of the 18th century. A bronze relief sculpture depicting three young ladies standing in a group, references to one of his better know poems Braes of Balquhidder, which starts “Will you go lassie go, To the braes of Balquidder”.
