Thoroughly recommend a trip to Sma' Shot Cottages to anyone visiting Paisley. Brilliant guided tours of reconstruction of weaver's and mill worker's houses. Very interesting and gives an insight into Paisley's impressive textile heritage. Nice wee shop and cafe too. Well done to all the volunteer's dedication and hard work that keeps the Cottages going!!

It's Sma' Shot day in Paisley which pays tribute to its weaving past, Paisley arguably was the leading weaving town in Scotland. The weaving industry led to a process for making thread which led to the thread mills but even without the mills industrialisation throughout the UK would probably have led to decline of weaving. There are many reminders of Paisleys thread making past indeed you could describe the centre of Paisley as a living museum to the Coats, the Clarks and the company they built. However there's very little to its weaving past Sma' Shot Cottage being the leading example. A small cottage with a loom and living spaces faithfully preserved in this 18th century cottage, well worth a visit.

What a fantastic old building. The volunteers bring the rooms to life with there knowledge of the weaver's who lived here. Great place to take the kids for some local history

Here because of smashot day. Just had coffee and cake. Saw some people getting toasties and salad. Looked good. Got some information on the weavers and how they lived. Too busy to get full tour. Open, Wed, Fri, and Sat. Just instant coffee available.
