Saint Mirrin's monument is right outside Saint Mirin's Cathedral and is Patron saint of Paisley. Hailing from Ireland he came to Scotland to preach Christianity in the 6th century and settled in the haloed lands of Paisley. I am not sure of the origins of this statue but the portrayal of the veritable saint depicts him as a little petite, well I suppose people were a little smaller in those days.
