Such nicely maintained Church. It's not as big as other cathedral's. This one is a bit old one, but maintained beautifully. There is a grotto of Mother Mary at the entrance of the church. The whole floor is interlocked, so no mud. Adoration is there everyday morning 5:45 to 6:15. At 6:15 we have Holy Mass. The church compound is very clean. All basic facilities are available here.

The English name for this street is ‘Oil Merchant Street’. This area is a Syro Malabar Catholic settlement who came from rural villages in the now Thrissur District to do coconut oil trade. They first settled @ Ennakottil Street in Valyangadi started a church named St Lazarus in the year 1858. Later renovated in the year 1910. Due to a rising population of catholics in the coming years they need a new big one. So in 1950s they ordered to build St. Raphael Syro Malabar Catholic Cathedral. It is the second largest one in the city after St Sebastian Roman Catholic Cathedral.
