It's popular not as cafe but as a landmark. Not that great in first experience. Basic snacks and food. Found no crowd in weekend as well. Ordered noodles. Looked average and so was the taste . Should have other better options
like
1. Option to sit in the garden which offers a good view of the Dhauladhar 2. Good food at reasonable prices, alcohol also available 3. Good service
As some other reviewer has said, it's popular as a landmark. For me It's just another touristy place and the place although well kept has a synthetic ( like nature in a cage) feel to it. There's nothing bad about the place but nothing good either. You have to pay at the gate to get in. The only thing you can do differently here is drink beer on the lawn enjoying the warmth of the sun while looking at the Dhauladhar range. I was mostly disappointed, didn't even click a single photo but those who come for a weekend visit with kids would probably enjoy it.

Govt owned Govt run... Decent food served hot, with beer available. Nice location and view from the lawns is nice and calming. One can stop over if the weather is pleasant enough to allow outdoor sitting.
A nice cafe situated in prime location and the park outside allows you to enjoy food and enjoy the nature and the constant flowing sound of water from the water channel flowing there is so pleasing, this cafe is under Himachal Tourism and it offers a limited food items, food is just average. cafe is maintained from inside and outside does needs a maintenance

You can have variety of foods here. You can drink alcohol as well. By sitting in the open area you can have nice views of snow covered mountains too. The Restaurant is managed by Himachal Pradesh Tourism Department. Staff's behaviour is also cooperative. Must visit place whether you're with your family or friends. They are also facilitating accomodation. The interior is also very nice. It's very popular place among tourists. I have had a nice experience here.
