Saravana Poigai is a small pool which is believed to have supernatural powers. It is believed that taking a dip in the pool can cure one of several diseases as well as wash away one's sins. The pool which is located at the Thiruvaavinankudi temple attracts a number of devotes. According to legends, Saravana Poigai is the pool where Lord Muruga emerged, and it lies in the Himalayas.

Free shower facility with separate area for men and women. No real facility apart from some granite slabs as racks, three big tanks with water and three mugs. Slightly dirty, but since the crowd was less, could manage to get a quick shower after the tonsure from a nearly empty tank. It needs to be better maintained, some partition like facilities could be built for privacy and placing bags in safety, provision for applying sandalwood paste could be had, afterall it's a place for holy pilgrims and not street rats! Better facilities are paid which has hot water facility. In Palani, good things come to those who pay, exorbitantly...

This is where you offer hair to Lord Murugan. Well maintained to handle large crowd.
