I got a lemon and service has been like pulling teeth... I've been struggling with my Houdini pinball machine since it arrived. First it was a calibration problem, and let me tell you it wasn't consistent. Then the sensors weren't sensing the catapult area and balls were getting trapped. Then the system didn't know that all of the balls were accounted for and acted like there was one on the playing field. The last one has been a bloody nightmare because the service team has basically ignored me and merely expect me to take the hand I was dealt -- trust me, a 7,000 paperweight is NOT what I purchased. Since I have received the Houdini pinball, I have not been able to get the Master Magician mode to work properly -- the game will reboot and crash the game if I get that level. The programmers intentionally program every game to be difficult to get to this level, hoping to release a code update to fix it. However, their popularity in the pin-market has them releasing another machine and that has become their top priority. Service has gone a full 30-days without notifying me of their progress. I am expected to continue to be patient while I cannot play the game as advertised. Service has acknowledged that they never expected someone to change the changeable settings to get to the revered level faster and thus I manage to reboot every single time. My experience in this matter has been that American Pinball is still in its infancy in both quality working pinballs AND customer service. Hindsight being 20/20, I would have been better off with a used Theatre of Magic pinball IMHO. Search the web. There are lots of articles about internal problems with this company and the suggestions that they will not live up to their promises... Note that other reviewers, Ryan White and Nirmal Vasani, both work at American Pinball so the review scores are inflated unnaturally.
