I had a very disappointing interaction with Dr. Hay when looking for a pediatrician for our baby, who is due in two weeks. She was judgmental, arrogant, and clearly lacked respect for a parent's role in managing their child's healthcare. Within sixty seconds of speaking on the phone with me, she drew very quick (and incorrect) judgments about where I was coming from and then refused to answer any of my questions or even have a conversation with me. I asked one simple question about the timing of a vaccine and she refused to answer it and became extremely judgmental, almost hostile. I am pro-vaccine and have never considered skipping a vaccination for my child. I did not even say I wanted to alter the timing of any vaccine--I literally said I was interested in asking a question about it. That's it. (Perhaps she misunderstood my inquiry, but when I tried to clear up any confusion about what I was asking, she just spoke over me.) The fact that she is unwilling to explain a recommendation to a curious parent says volumes about how she views her patients (and the fact that she would talk to an expectant mother this way says volumes about her as a person). Informed consent should be something every doctor wants and requires from their patients, but Dr. Hay seems to require blind obedience. Be wary.

Dr. Hay is great! Her business model is perfect for professional parents with limited time. She is convenient and easy to get in contact with. We know we can count on her in emergency situations as well as run of the mill questions we may have. She is a great doctor and diagnostician. We and our son felt at ease with her right away. I would recommend Dr. Hay to anyone!

Dr Hay is everything any parent would want in their child's Pediatrician! It's hard to know where to begin. Not only is she a brilliant doctor, she is calm, caring, careful and always thoughtful with her responses and has always steered us in the right direction. She is conservative when she needs to be and takes the aggressive approach just when you need it. A beautiful bedside manner and expertise to Boot. What's not to love? :-)
