Vision “A Rainforest Nature Reserve in a magical valley, that has deep positive impacts in the world beyond, by hosting the activities of a broad, diverse community of remarkable individuals and entities, including its Members – in a way that is socially, environmentally and economically sustainable in the long term.” Operations The Mamoní 100 and Mamoní Valley preserve are not only enhancing their landholdings with sustainable enterprises and forest management practices, it is fostering a Valley-wide collaboration of landowners, villagers and other stakeholders to help achieve its long-term vision. In partnership with Earth Train, the M100 formed the Mamoní Valley Preserve as a non-profit organization, and within it, the Mamoní Valley Preserve Association. It is designed to unite all folks with an interest in the Valley. The Mamoní 100 and Mamoní Valley Preserve are enhancing the land by mapping and custodianship of lands and forests; controlling pasture and rastrojo; protecting forested land by preventing poaching of timber and incursion by neighboring livestock; and developing degraded land for agroforestry, carbon sequestration, forest restoration, and cultural activities and ecotourism. Legacy The Mamoní 100 provides its investors/philantropists with a unique blend of benefits within an exclusive community, bringing experiences that have already been deeply meaningful and life-changing for several of the Members and their families. Mamoní 100 Member families are having a measurable impact on the well-being of the Valley’s communities, human and natural – employing locals, restoring ecological and productive value to pasture lands, luring wildlife back to previously deforested land, sequestering atmospheric CO2, and protecting 7,400 acres of Panama’s threatened tropical forest.
