Baliwag Lechon Manok and Liempo is already an institution during my college days at AMA University Proj. 8 Quezon City. Baliwag's lechon manok and liempo definitely tasted better than the competition. My buddies and I feasted on Baliwag's lechon manok and/or liempo on special occasions. Now that I'm based in Dagupan City, lechon manok at Baliwag's costs Php 250 while the competition offer theirs at Php 190. That's almost a 32 percent price difference. However, Baliwag's lechon manok is way much bigger, juicier (not dry due to overstaying at the rotisserie), and replete with flavor. Likewise, I have tried their original and spicy chicharon which are reasonably priced at Php 25 per pack. The packaging is the first class plastic with foil type which is air tight and ensures sealed in freshness. To my delight, the chicharon crackles and all are uniformly crunchy without hard to bite parts. It's also flavorful and always came with two plastic sachets of high quality vinegar. When I say high quality, it definitely is not the synthetic Datu Puti vinegar. Baliwag's chicharon vinegar tastes all natural and not too sour which is good because it does not over power the delicious flavor of the chicharon. I'm very satisfied with the chicharon as to flavor, consistency of the bite quality, packaging, vinegar, and the price! I also tried the leche flan. It's creamier than ordinary leche flans and the packaging enables you to eat it anywhere as long as you have a spoon. The service crew is also hard to beat. They're quick, very attentive, energetic and well-trained as to customer service. In summary, the high price of the lechon manok is a bummer but the size of the chicken and flavor adequately makes up for the price difference.
