Châtelet (& Les Halles) is my pivot point in Paris. I calculate everything based on how easily I can get to and from Châtelet because it is such a useful station. It is large but once you get your bearings it is easy to access many parts of the city through Châtelet.

This station is good for making transfers but sometimes you must walk a looooooong time to transfer. Here are things to know: - Lines 1, 4, and 14 are pretty close together - Lines 7 and 11 are close to each other, but very far away from all other lines - All RERs at Châtelet Les Halles are close together but a little further but no too far away from lines 1, 4, and 14. The RERs are very far away from lines 7 and 11.

Gorgeous view. It is easy to find and nearby the bus stop. You can take picture, from the bridge with the magnificent view of the river and the building. You can also walk along the street to enjoy more magnificent scenery. The pathways are full of seller, but it's still viable to walk with a baby stroller

Central metro hub, very busy most of the time, but if you need to switch lines and get around with the metro, then you need to learn to use this station. Moreover, there are some great spots to visit outside the station, Notre-Dame is close by (South-East), as is the Louvre (West).
