Beautiful place for a girls trip or to bring the family. Outdoor pool, hit tub and a small gym on site. Direct access down to the beach. Very rocky beach access, but a quick walk to the left and its sand forever.

One of the best experiences I've ever had in a hotel. We got everything we could possibly wanted. Our suite had a kitchenette and a patio with a gas bbq and outdoor settings. Hotel offers a gym and a hot tub which we booked 2 times and an outdoor fireplace area which we booked once. One of the staff members (Michael) was specifically very helpful with providing all the possible options and information and setting up the fireplace for us, etc. So a big "thank you" to all of you and I hope to be back here soon.
Motel playing dress up as some fancy resort. Broken thermostat. Shared entrance door with another unit. Giant gap underneath the door. No sound insulation. Water spills everywhere as the shower does not have a door. Bathroom door does not latch properly. If you are looking to have a peaceful vacation and be woken up naturally by the sunlight, don’t bother. There’re no windows to let light in unless you want everyone to see into your room (thanks to the exterior entrance). So you will be woken up in one of three ways: 1. Housekeeping marches into your room 2. Housekeeping’s loud music while they are cleaning the room next door (or worse, their off key singing) 3. Your neighbour’s nonstop COVID cough I don’t know about you, but this is not my idea of a vacation.
Absolutely an incredible experience. We arrived and our room was quite hot (26 degrees c) and the thermostat was broken! Coincidentally the front desk called to check in on us! We told him it was quite hot and within minutes the manager Tara called us to promptly move use to a new room. We were escorted to our new room very kindly by the front desk staff. Later in the evening after we enjoyed the hot tub, Robert was unbelievably accommodating, over the top hospitable, kind, and welcoming giving us all the tips and hot spots of parksville and the area! Not very often do you have all amazing staff! We are very impressed with the hospitality and will absolutely return!
Excellent experience and extremely pleased with the room and facility even though the pool was closed for Covid.
I work in the states but come up to parksville for work. I've stayed at a couple of different places but the sunrise is my favorite. The atmosphere of the place is very relaxing, the staff are accommodating and the rooms are great. Definitely recommend staying here.
The room was really nice. We got a ground level suite which had a walk out to an outside sitting area with table and bbq. The cleanliness was a 10/10. The location is a 7/10 only because the walk down to the water needs some attention. It is a switchback walking path with a steep grade with no steps cut in. It takes about 10 minutes to walk down to the water this way. The kitchen could also use a little more stock. Even the basics like salt and pepper would be nice. Also, I booked for a five day stay and you only get one package of coffee then you have to pay for more. Kind of sad since the room is upwards of 300/day. All in all, a great place. I'd give it a 7/10.
We made our decision to go there because of the hot tub, but it wasn't working the day we arrived. Some notice about it not working would have been appreciated. We tired to make due with our room bath tub for the kids, but the plug didn't work. It drained quickly. We had maintenance come the next day and he arrived with NO MASK and didn't wear one while he was in our room either. The front desk staff that greeted us on our arrival had a mask around his neck, but wasn't wearing it. I informed the manager and masks aren't mandatory for their staff sadly. We needed to ask for batteries for the room remotes and extra soap for the dishwasher (Room had 2 pods only, but our stay was for 4 days). The faucet for the bath tub also didn't work well and my toddler was able to take them right off. We didn't bother calling maintenance again, because we didn't want him to come back without a mask. We just had to ask for a lot of things during our stay and with on top of all the bedding we had to pack up ourselves it wasn't the relaxing experience we hoped for our anniversary away. Overall we were just happy to get away and the kids enjoyed being outside of their up home.
