If you are really ready to stop using..than this place WILL help you if you let it.. My drug was heroin and I never thought I could ever live without it again....the last time I used was on February 1 2020 and if it wasn't for the staff here , I probably wouldn't be here today...They gave me the help, support, and knowledge that I needed and will carry it with me forever ...Thank you all again for helping me live again !!!

I could write a horror story about this place. The truth is though that horror story is nothing compared to the horror story of Alcoholism and addiction. If you're ready your ready,if you ain't, nothing is going to help you. YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN PRAY

PRINCIPALS OVER PERSONALITY, HONESTY, OPEN-MINDEDNESS & WILLINGNESS, RECOGNIZING YOUR THINKING ERRORS, UNDERSTANDING THE PSYCHO-DYNAMICS & BIOLOGY OF THE DISEASE, & REMAINING TEACHABLE are necessary if you want to obtain your SOBRIETY. Turning Point is a phenomenally exceptional place to learn about the intrinsic coping skills and other vital tools to address your addiction to drugs & behaviours. In the words of an old quote......\Free your mind and your a will follow!\

Turning Point saving lives every day, the waiting time can be a pain at times however you do get in. The facility is located in the old Barnert Hospital on Broadway in Paterson, NJ.. Dealing with recovery scares everyone, by coming, listening and learning about early recovery and doing the steps. It's a beginning to show how to obtain support and learning making meetings remember 90/90. The need of having a sponsor, home group and support group makes the difference. Twelve-step programs are self-help meetings where participants admit past mistakes, surrender to a higher power and learn how to stay sober...

Turning Point of Paterson,NJ is a huge joke. If your looking for a place to go that provides individualized care this is not the place. First of all its a state run facility. The place is a dump. The staff is not required to have any form of degree outside of the counselors. The unit staff are the ones who work with us the most, they run our groups which we are in all day everyday. It's pretty sad that the ones who are suppose to be invested in your sobriety have no formal education about your \ disease\. There were quite a few incidents that took away from my attention of my treatment while I was there. You are suppose to meet with your counselor twice a week for an hour each time. At this time is when you can make phone calls and only for 5 minutes.. Every time I was to meet with my counselor, instead of being able to address the issues as to why I were there I had to provide details of mishaps that occurred on the unit..and I only got to see my counselor once a week. I felt as though it was a huge waste of my time. If you go there I advise you to make sure you disinfect your bed before you put any bedding on it, because as quick as a girl leaves , you are the one occupying it within hours and no one comes in to clean anything, we are to clean and disinfect our rooms.
