This department is "Department of Computer Science (DCS)" in Punjabi University, which is confused with "Department of Computer Engineering" by new visitors, because some courses like M.Tech. and Ph.D. are offered in both these departments under Punjabi University. This deptt. offers MCA, M.Phil, M.Tech. and Ph.D. courses in Computer Science. For clarity, this department is an old department shifted to this new building round 2010-2012, where as "Department of Comp Engg (CE)" is a separate deptt. which came into existance after "UCoE" was dissolved into seperate departments (others are Deptt of Mechanical Engg, Civil, Electronics). Both DCS and Deptt. of CE are totaly separate, with different staffs, different syllabus, curricular etc.
