I took a policy under Life Stage Pension for my wife in April 2008 and the company used to operate from ICICI Bank at Rajpura 140401 Punjab (India). On 19th Sept 2013 I approached the Rajpura office of ICICI Pru life which used to operate from ICICI Bank building in Caliber Market, Rajpura. The Branch Manager of ICICI Bank told me that they had no association whatsoever with the ICICI Pru life. Anyhow after contacting the offices of the ICICI Prulife, the branch manager reluctantly got surrendered the policy and sent an email to ICICI along with attachment of the scanned copy of the Policy. Now it is about 14 days after surrendering policy at ICICI Bank that the company is insisting me to visit Patiala or Chandigarh as they had closed their office premises at ICICI Bank at Rajpura. When I asked if the company closed their establishment at Patiala or Chandigarh also then what would the aged customers like me will have to do? I was told in very harsh language that in that case customers like me will have to visit the New Delhi or Bombay office of the ICICI Prulife. If this is the fate of an literate person what would be the fate of innocent farming community is Punjab, who are the main client of this fraud company, who flee from a station after selling their insurance products. If you contact the customer care for offering new business they are so prompt that the executives will reach in Cars and Bikes immediately to sell you insurance product but when asked to arrange for payment of surrender or maturity value, then the customers will have pass through the same ordeal.
