A winter wonderland when we were there as it was snowing. The whole place was so nice. We walked down beside the canal from Marple turning around at the viaduct, 200ft up, which is worth seeing from below, access via steps. A very easy leisurely walk, taking 15 to 20 mins one way. There was a few people but not to many. Recommended to go.

Amazing walk with by the canal leading to the Aquaduct. If you continue walking along the path you will get to Marple. Highly recommended.
A lovely walk meeting many fellow dog walkers along the way. Cyclists speed past a bit too fast making it difficult to manoeuvre my old dog on the narrow paths. A lovely view all the way down especially if you are lucky enough to see a barge going through.
Maple aqueduct yet another masterpiece of engineering taking the peak forest canal high above the valley. We parked the car at lock 13 and walked down the picturesque flight of locks ending at the aqueduct. You can walk down underneath it where you will find a bench a handy place to sit and wonder how they managed.to build the aqueduct 200 years ago.
