Hands of Hope is a registered charity number 1168016, set up in July 2016 by the current Trustees. Farming 4 acres of organic land in Peasmarsh, East Sussex, with a new facility planned for Hawkhurst, Kent, in 2019, our aim is to reconnect people with where their food comes from, teach them how to grow and cook healthy, nutritious food and use this process to ultimately reduce childhood obesity and loneliness levels in the regions where we operate. Our Mission: "To use Growing & Cooking to bring our communities together in order to help address the challenges of loneliness and obesity and, through education, encourage people to lead, healthier, happier lives."​ Our Aims: • Raise awareness of the consequence of poor diet and lack of exercise in our Communities. • Provide educational programmes that enable more people in our communities, to eat better and become more active • Improve current take up of school dinners across Hastings, Rother & West Kent • Tackle childhood hunger • Help tackle loneliness Our projects range from Helping Hands Seniors Lunch Clubs, Grow to Show in Schools and in the Community, Hen Power, Men in Sheds, School Breakfast Clubs, as well as the creation of a new walled garden facility in Hawkhurst, Kent, which will be developed over the next 18 months to establish a range of social enterprise services and initiatives that will serve the local community and act as income generators for the core charity. Local people and in particular, families, young children and the elderly, will have access to healthy, sustainable and affordable food, as well as learning how to grow and cook it.
