He lead the team to Peddapuram and conducted several eye camps. They performed several Cataract surgeries and distribute eye glasses to the needy. This further made Dr.Rao to convert his residence into American Hospital to help the local and neighboring villages. Dr.Rao provided necessary medical equipment,some from India and some from US.Dr.Rao felt that a permanent foundation is necessary to fulfill his vision and the mission. Dr.Koteswara rao believes that the future of our country depends on the Success of today's youth and under served farmers in villages. In 1986, thus Batchu Foundation was established to serve the community. He committed to spend 75% of his earnings for under-served youth reach for a brighter,safer tomorrow by championing programs for youth education and families in need. Dr.Rao since then donated nearly 2.5 million dollars. He also established an endowment fund of Rs 4 crores.
