Having spent some time at Morag and Andrew's other properties we knew everything would be spot on, it was better than that. The Lodge, a little tricky at first to find it but what a gem of a place. It couldn't be closer to town and be far enough away at the same time. Peaceful and quiet and secluded away from everything but the town centre is only 400yds, perfect. Just like going home, thats the best compliment i can give it, everything was just great with the accommodation and to have a fantastic chippie 200 yds away, Jim Jacks and a brilliant Indian restaurant 250yds away, Shukria, what more could you want. Walking routes were supplied, i had done some homework but i didn't need that anymore. We had a great breakfast at Dellas in the town and believe me that sets you up for the day, beautiful. With Edinburgh a short drive away we even went there for a day, but back home to Peebles is where we wanted to be. All in all a fantastic break, in a fantastic part of the world in a beautiful house that is quietly understated. We are going back because it was just so relaxing and easy for us to unwind and enjoy the great Scottish atmosphere. Thanks Morag and Andrew, you've done it again x

We had a great time at The Lodge on The Tweed. It is the perfect holiday cottage with some beautiful walks on your doorstep. It is also great for Golf, Cycling and all aspects of outdoor life. It is also ideally situated for a stroll into Peebles Town for a great selection of restaurants and bars. Highly recommended. Francis Collins

Recently had a long weekend break at Kencairn Lodge, wow! what can i say. A lovely charming cottage with wonderful period features whilst at the same time having all the mod cons for a lovely relaxing break. Fantastic location in the heart of Peebles. Out of the back gate and two minutes walk to the lovely high street which hosts an array of independent stores, great eateries, coffee shops and pubs. Also literally two minutes and you are on the lovely river Tweed, i enjoyed my daily morning runs along the river bank taking in the great scenery and wildlife. We spent long days walking and exploring the stunning surrounding countryside including the nearby Moffat hills. lovely meals out in the evenings in Peebles before relaxing in the comfortable living room back at the lodge, don't think i have ever felt as 'chilled out'. The Lodge on the Tweed web site was extremely informative with hints and tips on all sorts of activities. Our first time in the borders but we will definitely be making an annual event of it and staying at lodge on the Tweed, perfect location, perfect accommodation.

We stayed at the Lodge on the Tweed for a week in October and it was a truly wonderful place to explore the beautiful borders from. The house is warm and welcoming with lovely comfortable beds and cosy sofas. Loads of really thoughtful touches like a coffee machine, good quality towels, bedding and a smart TV so we could relax after busy days out cycling the trails of nearby Glentress. Sleeps 4 with ease. Morag and Andrew have gone the extra mile to make sure the Lodge has everything we needed. Walking distance from the centre of Peebles I definitely recommend this little gem. We will be going back.

We really enjoyed our week at Kencairn. Received a welcome e-mail from Morag, the owner, before arrival with all the info we needed, and Anjie, who looks after the house, was on-hand for any queries while we were there. The house is clean, comfortable and feels like a lovely home. Beds were really comfortable (and we tend to be picky!) and the kitchen was well-equipped - we didn’t find anything missing - it felt like the owners had really thought about what you need to be able to cook your own meals easily. We made good use of the lockable bike store in the garden - may be worth knowing that there are two small flights of steps up to the back garden to use it but this wasn’t a big problem for us. Great location - quiet but walking distance to shops, cafes (recommend Coltmans for coffee and cakes and Della’s for great value freshly cooked breakfast/sausage rolls/hot rolls/cakes and you can also buy meals like lasagne to take away and heat up at home) and play areas. Great spot if you like mountain-biking (Glentress and the pump and jump track at Cardrona were our favourites) and also within 45 min drive of the beach. Our only minor problem was finding somewhere to park and unload on the first day but we mentioned this to Morag and she has already sorted out a map to help future visitors find the best parking options - I have no doubt any minor issues/queries you can inevitably encounter in holiday lets would be quickly sorted out.

Lovely cottage that is in a very central location to Peebles town centre. Comfortable amenities within the cottage and dog friendly.

We had a great weekend with friends staying in Kencain/ lodge on the Tweed . The cottage is characterful and cosy with the biggest most comfortable beds ! The town centre with pubs and restaurants and start of beautiful walks along the Tweed /surrounding hills are minutes away ! The hosts have helpfully stocked the kitchen with the basics if you fancy eating in .

Our recent stay at Kencairn in the heart of Peebles on the river Tweed was superb. We visited as a small family, my husband and I and our young son of 5 years old. We loved how the house was designed to be both functional and beautiful inside and out; it was naturally peaceful and relaxing and had stunning panoramic views of the surrounding hills. The rooms were decorated and furnished extremely tastefully. All the amenities were beyond our expectations a fully equipped kitchen inclusive of a washing machine and a dishwasher, dining room and lounge area with Wi-Fi, echo dot, blue tooth speakers, a smart TV and family games. The two large double bedrooms had super king-size beds in each that could be configured to singles were exceptionally comfy and cosy, nothing usually compares to your own bed but these beds are the exception! All of which was controlled by a very efficient central heating system. Parking was in very close proximity to the house which eased our arrival and departure. The location was perfectly positioned close to the river Tweed, only a 5 minute walk (if that!) into Peebles high street which was home to a vast array of unique individualised shops, boutiques, pubs and restaurants. Which included a post office and 2 good sized supermarkets? There was an efficient bus service that we used to visit Edinburgh that took approximately 60 minutes. In closer proximity we enjoyed the beautiful walks along the river Tweed and the river Cuddy, cycle trails at Glentress that catered for all age groups and abilities, Go Ape, a local trout fishery, local museum’s and art galleries and an indoor swim at the local leisure centre. All communications were professional, very informative and pleasant. We had a very enjoyable break and would most definitely look forward to staying here again in the very near future.
