A place to visit only if you want a taste of history. Many mythological stories come your way. Just be a little smart as to avoid people thronging you. But will be a nice thing to chat with a pandit there.

We had the fortune to bathe in the holy waters maybe three or four times when we visited Kurukshetra from Delhi. We came by public transport once and by car or taxi on other occasions. This is the spot from where Brahma started creation so it is called Brahma Sarovar. It is a huge water body 1800 meter in length and 1400 meter in depth.Created by Brahma it was renovated by Kuru ,The arched enclosures and bathing ghats with separate enclosures for men and women are impressive and are convenient for pilgrims. A dip in this Sarovar is equal to performing an Ashvameda yagam. We felt great bathing here and my husband did tarpan or offerings to our ancestors. Devotees flock here during Somvati Amavasya (Monday New moon day) and more so during a solar eclipse. Though we could not go on such days we got to have a relaxed ,satisfying dip in the holy waters during our visits and cherish it in our memory.
