We spent one night there (a groupe of 4, 2 rooms/suites) in 2014, the place, host and breakfast were amazing ! All perfect !

This place is unbelievably good on so many levels. The place is fantastic. An historic building but with real warmth and character. The accommodation is fabulous with all the luxury you will need. we stayed in the larger suite and had plenty of room to relax without feeling cramped. the bathroom is huge with modern fittings but still maintaining its initial character. The setting is superb with rolling hills and plenty of nature to keep taking your breath away. it is out of the way but close enough to small towns to visit and explore. there is no WiFi or mobile phone signal which I at first thought was a negative but after a few hours of glorious silence from my smart phone I forgot about the world outside and got on with what i was there for; a relaxing weekend with my wife. our Hosts were amazing. Mark took the lead in showing us around and making us welcome. he gave us a choice for breakfast, Full English, Smoked Salmon and Scrambled egg or Belgian waffles with yoghurt and fruit (3 different waffles on 1 plate). we chose the Full English which was to die for. this was accompanied with a Continental style spread with home made bread and James and a selection of Cheese, Meat and Fruits. Stuffed!!!! On Sunday i had the Smoked salmon and scrambled egg whilst my wife had the waffles. oh, and more home made bread, jam, meats cheese........ I have never bothered writing a review before as I have never been inspired to do so before even though I have stayed in some great and famous hotels before. But this place is special, and no, I am not the owner doing a self review, I am a simple bloke from Yorkshire who found a fantastic place to stay by chance and will definitely be returning soon. Thanks Mark for a great time, we will be back.
