Stopped here back on 4th November for lunch. Penicuik Storehouse is part mini market selling lots of local produce with a cafe near the back of the store. The seating is a mix of informal couches, tables and breakfast tables, but there’s no theme or consistency to the decor. The extra Covid hygiene precautions are in place. All the staff wore face masks, there was a screen at the cafe counter, hand sanitisers around the cafe and tables were cleaned after each customer. I ordered a Cashew Cream Cheese and Cucumber Soda Bread, and a latte. The coffee was okay. The meal was excellent. The cream cheese went very well with the freshly sliced cucumbers and cashews. The soda bread was well toasted and mixed with the cream cheese, giving each bite a lovely feel as the bread soaked up the cream.

I absolutely love the addition of the cafe to this wonderful little spot. I enjoyed the most delicious coffee and pastry upon the day of opening and the staff couldn't have been friendlier. I can't wait to try out some more options on the menu. I popped along with my five month old baby and there was lots of room for the buggy and changing facilities too. We're so lucky to have this fab little place in Penicuik and I would highly recommend making a visit.
First class coffee. Best on the south side of the Pentlands.
Take a trip back in time, this place is like going into a shop 50 years ago. Brilliant idea and should be supported by everybody local to it. Needs to be more advertised though.
Loving our veg boxes! Thanks for the great service. A great asset to have on our doorstep.
