We arrived at Howgate Foot B & B in pouring rain after a four hour drive up from Oxford, to a very warm welcome and were thrilled with the lovely self contained accomodation. The bedroom is very spacious, lovely comfortable bed and just the place to relax after a long journey. What we loved about the place was the clever idea of the upstairs lounge, with lovely views across the countryside, and again, such a comfortable room where we were served breakfast the following morning. We appreciated the advice of where to eat out and the Punchbowl Inn in Askham is a must and do try the beef - the best we have ever eaten. It will be good to return to Howgate Foot, hopefully for a longer stay and we can recommend everything which is part and parcel of a fantastic B & B, in a beautiful, remote setting, all we need next trip is the sun to shine!!
