We have visited here for several years whilst staying at Center Parcs and my daughter this week again did the pony care day. My daughter absolutely loved it, grooming a horse, having a lunge lesson, learning lots and a treck through the forest and the lady who accompanied her (Lucy) was extremely nice with her all day. All the staff we spoke to and the owner Dawn were all extremely friendly and out to help everyone. Well worth the money and a lovely stables who care very well for their horses.

We spent a weekend at Whinfell forest- Center parcs. I'm shocked that center parcs are linked to Leacett trekking centre. I doubt that the standard is monitored by center parcs! Rude manager and staff. They spoiled our amazing day with their attitude. After I booked my 8 years daughter, they offered her a horse. Shortly after another child arrived and wanted that horse so they said to mine sorry you will have to have a tiny pony 'tinky'. When I asked about the rationale, the ladies said it's our decision and the child is of a bigger built! Which clearly wasn't the case. My daughter flooded in tears. I asked for a refund. They said No. I spoke to the manager who was even worse claiming that his staff can make the decision they want and they shouldn't be questioned! Disgusting and shocking attitude. He said he's not worried about their position with center parcs and that I can't complain to them about this as the under 9 bookings are directly with them unlike my older children bookings!!! Paid for 30 mins ride and got 15 mins. Grumpy ladies (except one) accompany the children. Unfortunately the experience has wasted our day. I think centre parcs need to re consider their link with Leacett Stables. They don't really match with centre parcs standards. One bad experience can waste a break!
