Lovely hidden gem. Were meg and her daughter's witches who were caught and turned to stone? How many are there? Who knows.

An interesting quiet little circle compared to the much larger Long Meg circle nearby . Least controversional access is via a gate on the road from Little Salkeld to Glassonby. Google maps has the wrong field location for this, it is actually located in the field just North of the Google pin. And there is no Google pin at all for Long Meg ! (edit Feb 2020: Both Google pin positions are now correct !) The guide book says the stones have been rearranged. Worth the visit for the well preserved spiral markings. Possible Solstice alignment with Long Meg ?

It's interesting, not well kept like Castlerigg stone circle near Keswick but none the less for it.
