Peaceful. Large open spaces. Well tended gardens. Value for money. Customer care. I bought an annual pass so I can go back many times. Fabulous day out

Beautiful fairytale setting. Literally caters to all tastes. There's the magnificent building / part ruin, the open grounds, the gardens (paid entry) the coffee shop (very good, affordable too) and the graveyard and Chapel. Great place for everyone. Oh, and very easy walks for everyone from old to young, and disabled to marathon fit

Great food, lovely location. Service a little slow, but I expect that's just down to high demand.

Fantastic place to go out with the kids for the day. Take drinks and sandwiches for some saving but can buy some great food and drink on site. Absolutely stunning views on a nice day .Great play areas for all the family. Lovely to walk around and spend as long as you want there

Perfect place for family day-out. Got a bit of everything. A castle, green areas and a playground suitable for family! A must see around Lake District.

Excellent day out, great cafe, but limited vegetarian/gluten free main courses, ie vegetarian option tends to be a pie or pasta! Lovely grounds which improve on every visit as the restoration is ongoing.

Always a delight. Garden grows a little more every visit (excuse the pun!) with further development and continued progress. Such exciting potential being delivered. Staff very knowledgeable and friendly. Great place to visit and discover at any time of the year.

A beautiful place to explore and enjoy. Cafe is pretty expensive so I'd bring a picnic.
