We recently returned from a five day New Year break at Stag Cottage where we had the most wonderful time. The cottage itself was everything we hoped for and more. It is extremely comfortable and we especially enjoyed returning to the log burning fire after walks with our puppy in the beautiful snow covered countryside. The Welcome Hamper was lovely and greatly appreciated and enjoyed by us all. This was our second visit to Melmerby (we previously stayed in another beautiful cottage in the Rowley Estate) and the only down side was that the local pub and bakery were closed due to COVID restrictions. (We used each of them on our previous visit and highly recommend a visit). We have already booked our next visit to Stag Cottage and cannot wait to repeat a perfect break, something we intend to do on a regular basis. What a find!!!!

Amazing !! Gorgeous cottage in a beautiful setting surrounded by fabulous woodland area to explore. The cottage is just gorgeous inside, so cosy but lots of space ... the added touches were pure luxury. Highly recommend we will certainly be returning again and again ...

We had a wonderful stay at Stag Cottage despite the awful "Summer" weather. As on previous visits the place was immaculate and the cottage was full of the beautiful touches we have become accustomed to when stay at a Rowley Estate venue.
Rowley estates top class...stag cottage is in a lovely village location within melmerby hall grounds...very clean...wood provided for the wood burner...heating worked very well...tv...wifi no problems...very cosy...welcome hamper and basics provided...eggs..butter..bread..milk..juice..tea bags..coffee..sugar..cheese..fresh fruit...pub a few minutes walk...wood stay again
