I stopped in this pub absolutely busting for the toilet. Months later, I have been contacted by solicitors telling me that I now have to pay 160 for the 12 minutes I was in their car park. The staff were very friendly when I was in the pub and directed me to the toilet, but I was unaware of any parking restrictions and was no advised whilst on their premises, so left none the wiser. There is no option to appeal - so now, jobless and in the middle of a global pandemic, I am left wondering how I am going to pay this and my mortgage and living costs. This sums up what is wrong with the world!

Great food and beers here! Lovely spot after a day's coast to coast walking.
Welcoming to all especially dogs. On entering the White Lion after a long walk with your best friend, you can pick up a towel to dry down your dog and a cushion for your dog to get comfy on while you enjoy a well earned drink. The food is fantastic.
Great pub , really friendly staff , food really tasty. Ash and Andy the landlords are the most friendly landlords I’ve ever met they go above and beyond to make you feel at home and have a great team working for them . We got locked out of our hotel and somehow they managed to get us back in . Thank you see you soon Paul and Jan
