I was the Personal Representative (Executor) of my relative's estate (August 2019) in Hillsborough County. Slightly complicating matters is that I currently live in Georgia and it was not convenient to be in Tampa to handle affairs. Marie at FPL and I executed the retainer agreement and work started in early September 2019. All filings, forms, notices, and actions were handled by Bruce and his team. We just filed for and received the final estate releases from the county first week of June 2020. We could have concluded a few weeks earlier, but I had to wait until the IRS taxes were filed by my CPA before having FPL close it all out. I highly recommend using a FPL for a couple of reasons. This is what they do and that machine-like focus lets them be efficient and kept costs down. Bruce was always available to answer clarifying questions. Prior, I had received quotes from generalist law firms that were double and triple FPL's quote. Second, FPL stayed within their initial estimate and the final billing was very appropriate for the work done. I would not hesitate to use them again, should the need arise. Oh, and whether you use FPL or another firm, you definitely need a lawyer to help do this with the Probate Court. I do not recommend trying to wade through the process unaided.
