Being a tungsten afficianado it was a great place to visit. Lots of heritage and geography to be found here plus stunning views up and down the coast. We were on a coastal circular walk from Perranporth, site can easily be accessed from the industrial estate/Perranporth Airfield. Head toward the coast until you find parking area past renewable energy company. There are some people living/squating up here and once I saw a man renovating the interior of a caravan with a sledgehammer. Don't be put off, lots of dog walkers of all ages park here and I've never worried about leaving my car here. From the parking it's a level, fairly even walk to Cligga, ideal if you have less mobility but still want experience the views. Cligga itself is quite dangerous, obviously the cliffs! The old mine workings should be negotiated carefully and young children supervised. I let mine run free, sadly they came back in one piece. Lots of Geocaches located in the area.

Stunning walk along cliffs from perranporth. Loads of little hidden places of interest. Abundance of wildlife of fauna. Well worn path and suitable for most people.

A very interesting and scenic walk, we parked at Perranporth & walked along the coastal path to Cligga head. There is a plaque which gives a brief history on the mine that once served a purpose during the war. (Just try to miss walking around here when the Drag & Drift is on at the air field near by, lots on revving & tyre squealing) lots of tunnels & shafts to investigate. Though most of the shafts have been filled in & have fences around them. Highly recommended.

Stunning and often overlooked part of Perranporth. Good place to walk dogs and much of it part of the Coastal footpath. In the summer I always walk my dogs here, although for novices keep them on leads, you are very close to the cliff edges. It’s situated at the end of the old WWII runway and there are still quite a few of the concrete artefacts remaining, which are easy to look at and in some cases scramble over easily. I love it all weathers because of the amazing views and its different effects on all the water! The first downside is the road in (once you get past the industrial businesses) is VERY ropey! Either park and walk from there or be prepared for enormous unavoidable pot holes. The second downside is over progressive years, the winter will see small ‘travellers’ camps set up close to where the path sets up. It can feel intimidating on your own, just my opinion, I have never had any problems though. There are a few loose dogs, which could put you off if parking to dog walk. But please don’t be put off by my description. It’s off the beaten track and incredible scenery east to Perranporth and west to St Agnes and beyond. Lots and lots of wonderful habitation and bird spotting opportunities.
