Overall the experience has been good but when it comes to milking money out of you for no good reason they definitely are the worst. -opening outdoor facilities from lockdown tomorrow 29th march 2021, logged on the App to book a class since they are reopening tomorrow and by shear curiosity just thought to give them a call beforehand and was told that if I unfreeze my membership now I will have to pay 20 fee. I did ask why ...since they are opening after lockdown and my membership should unfreeze automatically but was told that this is not the official opening day the official day is the 12th. You are either opening or not, don't just find new ways of scamming peoole(what a joke) - when getting a platinum membership have been told that I can use all the facilities around the country. Apparently this doesn't apply to Cambridge and probably some other few clubs where they have spa/sauna's that have been built recently with high quality standards and now they charge people on top of platinum fee (basically another level of membership above platinum). Those clubs by the way do not have a sauna for other non high level members, so if you are platinum u do not get sauna in your membership.

Like many other people I'm glad the gyms are finally open so I can blow some steam and get rid of them unwanted 'isolation' pounds. So today I managed to finally push myself into getting up from the couch and replace my trips to the fridge with one to the gym and I must admit that I am quite impressed with David Lloyd. It was not busy there was enough space for everybody to enjoy their workouts there's sanitizer available within 10 steps of wherever you are in the gym, everything is squeaky clean, and staff was friendly and seemed as happy to be 'back in business' as I was. So what changed: every other loker is out of action so you have enough room in the change area, the swimming pools are open but the sauna and steam room have a cheeky sign on them on the lines of 'sorry but I'm self isolating today' ; the jacuzzi I was available for one person at a time or members of the same household. You can still get a towel from the reception but it's only for the showers and as a rule you have to clean your station before and after you use it which if you ask me everybody should have done any how even before the pandemic.
