New Estate, good looking home. But nothing else there but houses. Needs local services really. i.e post office and other shops

The bad... Poor design which doesn't really become apparent until you move in (I purchased off plan). You only really get four useable kitchen cupboards due to the layout, yet the downstairs wc is enormous and a waste of valuable kitchen space. Don't get me started on the blanked wall area between the boiler and narrow wall cupboard, which could've been another cupboard. Excessive number of snags (30), many of which now resolved but some still outstanding. Internally I won't let them do anything until the Covid situation improves, but I'm still waiting for our door canopy more than 3 months after moving in (supply chain - Covid again). They had to provide an interim oven as the upgrade ordered was not delivered in time, even though it was ordered 8 weeks prior to completion (I now have this, but the upgrade was expensive and I now realise was not worth the money I paid). To be fair to Keepmoat, I recently joined a Facebook group \Problems With New House Builds\, and they do seem to be one of the better housebuilders out there, and my few issues pale into comparison with those experienced by people who've bought from other housebuilders. The good... Site and Customer Service staff are pleasant and more than willing to help get things resolved, but the inertia due to supply chain issues is frustrating to all parties. Kitchen aside, the room sizes are a good size for a new build, and the construction is solid. My garden is a good size, and there's plenty of space between houses so the area doesn't feel as claustrophobic as Hampton. There are schools being built, and I believe shops and a public open space are also in the plans (although may not be Keepmoat, but adds to the appeal of the area). There is an excellent community spirit here too.
