I stayed at King Bethune House for two nights and it was wonderful. At the first, I thought the house was going to be sold and I would not received services as good as that in the past. But the host Marlis still did very good job, kind, enthusiastic, and helpful. The breakfast was nice and delicious.

My partner and I were visiting for the Peterborough Folk Festival and had a great stay at the King Bethune House. The breakfast was delicious, the location was within walking distance to key areas of the city, and the location had more personality than any hotel.
My husband and I stayed in Marlis's cove for our honeymoon. I wouldn't recommend anywhere else. No where would you find the attentive and helpfullness as you would here. Marlis knows the area extensively and recommends plenty of things you can do if you are not familiar with the area. Her breakfasts are amazing and you can set a time with her whenever you feel like eating. The spa suite was very comfortable and we did make use of the steam room, sauna, and hot tub. The garden was where we spent most of our stay and it is a little oasis. The location is perfect and just a few blocks away from the downtown area. Marlis also arranged for us to be picked up by horse and carriage right after our ceremony and even packed us a picnic to enjoy together. Our special day would not have been complete without her help as she made all of those arrangments herself. Thank you for everything Marlis!
