One of the best treks to go in rainy season and very close to Mumbai. trek is very scenic and covered with greenery everywhere around the fort. In the Base village you have good options for lunch, they serve both Veg and Non veg food. Its a 3 hour trek but a moderate one, you will definitely love the place. do visit in Monsoon season.

Kothaligad is best for beginners who want to start Trekking. no much risky , you can also visit this place with your family. Don't try to stand at edges of this fort , as we all know this fort is more than 300 years old. there is chance to slip from edge of this forts. stones are not tightly stucked. Forest are taking 50 Rs / Person but not maintaining this fort.
Superb place... Must visit for trekking lovers and go with save tours.. their arrangements are great. Very historic place and mesmerizing view from the top. I did the sunrise trek and I wished that time would stop and keepp looking at the sunrise from the point.
A watch tower and an ammunition storage fort is Fort Kothaligad. It was occupied by Shivaji Maharaj during his regime. The view from the top of the fort makes one mesmerized the pinnacles of other forts in the region. 2 canons from the history are preserved and repaired and can be seen here. An old Kal Bhairav temple is located in the main cave of the fort.
Peth (Kothaligad) is small fort near Karjat, on the top of the fort there is a pinnacle. Pinnacle is carved from inside and has steps to reach on the top. View from the top is amazing.
It was an amazing experience. A very beautiful trek. The view from the top is like worth the climb
A sweet easy and nice trekk Has a long walk way and a short crawl up. Vehicle goes up till peth village..but one has to be really experienced with a proper wheel base vehicle..else park at the parking and walk up. The fort up has caves and water tanks.. The carvings are beautiful but worn-out with time.. Amazing views enroute.... Best place to stay over and camp for families and friends.. Best time will be during monsoon to experience the amazing views..!!
More of an outpost than a fort but good trekking experience and view from the top. Peth villagers take of providing refreshments at a price along the route. Apparently the old water tanks are supported by mountain springs and never dry up.
