You should definitely try the mead these guys are producing! It’s such a unique taste, you can’t find it anywhere else. Had a pleasure tasting and just having a great time! Definitely come around!
Famtastic mead. The owners take a scientific approach to mead. And I love their library! Try their buckwheat session mead - literally the mead version of a porter! That said, the building they're in doesn't let them put up signs, so you'll have to call to be let in. At first, it sketched me out, then I remembered my time with tech startups and it all made sense - they're still early stage.
Visited those guys recently. Something unusual and incredible. Really like what they make. If you want to experience something new - that’s a right place
Philadelphia mead well is definitely a unique experience, not only in the city but when considering other meaderies in the region. Often, a trope amongst the uninitiated to mead, is that its alcohol content is surprising. I’ve heard many first timers, or one timers explain that “it’s dangerous” because the “high alcohol content sneaks up on you” in the taste and gets you far more inebriated far quicker than expected. Well at Philadelphia mead well this is not an issue. The crafters here have purposely measured their alcohol to prove a lower abv. Of the three meads on tap, the highest abv is 8. The two in bottles are 11. think more beer than spirit. Which provides for longer enjoyment. The tasting space is homey while also embodying a sort of industrial chic atmosphere. Carter and Danielle are destined for greatness in the endeavor and their mead is not to be skipped.
