Last night was my my and my husband's first visit to Amano, and we plan on becoming bi-weekly regulars. The service and ambiance were simply wonderful. Our waitress, Patrice, was pleasant, knowledgeable, and I loved that she was part of the family that owns and runs the restaurant. The menu was diverse and delicious. My husband ate spinach and LIKED it. I am really looking forward to trying everything on the menu, especially the seasonal preparations, and having a glass of wine and listening to some jazz on a Friday. This place is easily one of the best hidden South Mountain gems.

Great food. The place was packed on a Friday night. There was a 30 min wait for table so we ate at the bar like a few other couples. The bartender was very helpful and even recommenced an entree that was wonderful. The place was packed the entire time we were there. The food was as good as I heard. The only down side is there are a few things I want to try on the menu that I have no idea what I'll get next time.

There for dinner last night for the first time. Have pased the place many times. My neighbor recommended the restaurant. I love the cozy feeling of the restaurant, the food was delicious. We finished our meal before the entertainment started, so we will have to come back again. Our waitress was fantastic. Nice to have a good restaurant so close to home.

This place is awesome. Very home-y and trendy. Food is super fresh, service is great and the wine flows. Definatly a refreshing eating experience in the south mountain area.

I dined here with a group of women but will never go back. I have never been treated so rudely! The manager/chef has no social skills. The waitress was unable to figure out our bill and demanded we pay more for gratuity because we were a party of 5. This she mentioned after we paid and left her a sizeable gratuity. The food is not bad but not worth the terrible customer service. Such a shame!

To all those that enjoyed the food and atmosphere here, you only have 2 more weeks to have it again. The Amano Bistro has lost its lease due to the sale of the property and they will serve their last meals on January 16, 2016.

Great, I mean really great tasting food and a cool wait staff. I have taken my gf here maybe six times now and we always have a good time. This is the kind of place that once you have found it you will keep coming back, which we plan to do soon.

Truthfully, the food was amazing, beautifully presented and a delicious creative menu. However, the business acumen was lacking at best. We requested wine, beer and water. The bar was backed up, so we waited about 20 mins for our drinks and a return visit from our waitress, water would have been great at least while we waited for the bar service. It was close to an hour for our food to arrive, the table next to us had 2 turnovers while we waited. To be fair it was a Saturday and we were a group of 10. But we gladly overlooked this, because the food was really great once it arrived. As we began the process to close out, the manager/chef came to our table and proceeded to explain that the policy is to not split the tab more than 2 times per party. I perceived his tone as condescending, but even putting that aside, it's poor service to punish your customers for not having an adequate POS system. If this would have been explained to us prior to ordering this outcome could have been avoided. It was a shame, had it not been for the poor service I would have liked to rate them highly, but cannot support a place that treats customers this way. Will not be going back.
