Don't take the Costco Bait - shop around. I began looking into solar and saw that Costco had an affiliation with Sunrun, whereby they offer \Special\ Costco pricing. I spent an hour on the phone with a sales rep and she was very nice and went through things in good detail and then she hit me with the price. I needed to do a double-take and then a triple take. I'm not sure if they're assuming that if you shop at Costco, you won't shop around, they're giving Costco a huge kick-back or have a fairly expensive marketing plan, or all of the above, but they were more than 3X the next highest quote (I received 4 other quotes that were all very consistent). She tried to tell me that the equipment they provide is the best of the best, however, the company I ultimately selected is using the exact same panels. SHOP AROUND.

We purchased our home over 2 years ago that had a previously installed solar system lease from Sunrun! Their system has now had some kind of short and burnt the side of our home! We have called several times for over a week and keep getting put off! They are telling us October 11th is their earliest service appointment! How can this happen? We don't even know if there is a possibility of our home catching on fire?
This company does not respond to your needs. I have been working to move the solar lease to the new owners of the home we sold. They never call you back. Steven Mathews is the contact at this company. He never calls you back. Never replies to your emails. I recommend you stay as far away from this company as you can. Consider yourself warned.
Sunrun is the worst company ever. Customer service is the worst and the minimum 1 1/2 hold times is crazy. Today I did a call back and it took over 3 hours. My solar panels are NOT working like they said they would. Then they tell me I need to buy more panels. Took me 3 months to get someone to go over my APS bill and why it was so high. I never received an email nor a call and had to call once a week for 3 months straight to not get any answers. I have heard every excuse a company could make up. from it was cloudy in July in Arizona to we work 50 cases a week each person. Just never ending BS with this company. The worst company to have and to work with!!!!
My two-year old solar system has been down for two months now, and SolarRun is in no hurry to fix their hardware issue (the system is on a 20-year lease that I inherited when I bought my house). I was the one to recognize that my solar wasn't working for the past two weeks, and when I called, it took them 3 weeks to get someone out. The tech looked at it for one minute immediately knew the inverter was dead. That was two weeks ago, and they still haven't ordered a replacement unit. When they finally do, it will likely be another few weeks to schedule the replacement. They still manage to bill me every month, even though I'm not getting any solar power during the middle of the summer...
