As a Disabled Veteran going through the VA system is very confusing and frustrating. It was recommended that I get a “rep” to help guide me through the system. Since I am a lifetime member at the VFW then I turned to them for guidance. I think they don’t have enough people and the employees don’t really have a clue of what they are doing so in the years that I have been going through them, I end up just doing the research myself (well I have other people helping since I am not able to) and then I send it in so they can process it through the VA system. My rep is Lisa Miller and I wouldn’t recommend her to anyone. She is slow in getting back to you (after you follow up several times) and she usually doesn’t know the answer or have a clue of how to navigate through the system. It’s just a “job” to her and she isn’t interested in really helping guide Veterans through the complicated process that the VA has. It’s unfortunate but I would say look into another organization if you are needing help with the VA process.
