Food, wine, landscape. Val d’orcia by car is a not to be missed experience while visiting Tuscany. We started from Florence, drove to Colle val d’elsa. We spent the night at Montalcino. Then in the morning headed to San quirico d’orcia and Castelloni d’orcia. We grabbed lunch in Pienza and finished in Montepulciano.

Every corner of Tuscany is beautiful. Maybe Pisa is the only not-that-great Tuscan town. But I digress, Val D'Orcia, and the rest of the country side of Tuscany along with its little towns is one of the most beautiful places to visit in Italy. The best thing to visit is by car. Give yourself at least a solid week to drive around, without any rush. And of course, don't take the highway or you won't enjoy it.

Great place to have an unforgettable road trip.. nature lovers will be amazed...Although it was late March when I visited and nature was not yet at it's top, i had spectacular and unique views of the valleys and the tiny villages nested at the hilltops of Val d' Orcia...Spend enough days (at least a week) to explore the area and the picturesque villages although in the end they will not be enough..Best months to visit April-June when nature is wonderful and it's not so crowded...It's fairly proclaimed a world heritage site by UNESCO!
