What a fantastic find! We stopped in here to buy some local cheese and had a wonderful time with Fernado and his friendly staff. They provided us samples of their cheese and meats and even some chilled white wine and their own home made Porto (which we also purchased). Highly recommended for a taste of traditional Portuguese food!!

This is a must stop if you're in town or nearby. The lovely owners are wonderfully spirited and great hosts. They make you feel like you're guests at their home. While we waited the owner gave us samples of their cured meats and the quality was outstanding. We ended up getting samples of their cheeses and port wine to go with the samples. Turns out the wine is from the owner's grandparent's Quinta, so it's also fabulous if you decide to buy some. Definitely a locally popular establishment and worth the 15 minute wait.

We stayed at a vineyard near Pinhao and wanted to enjoy our amazing views one evening from “home”. This butcher shop provided us with some incredible meats and cheeses, giving us samples of each before buying. We also purchased some of the homemade jams and spreads which were delicious. The butcher spoke enough English and insisted on giving us samples of “tea” aka wines that were delightful. This place is very reasonably priced and also were locals and restaurants buy from. Highly recommend!!

A delight. Such lovely owner and staff. Good quality product, courteous service and generous tasting on every one of their home made products. Love that they are selling local produce from their own farm. Definitely worth a visit.

We found this place two years ago on our first visit to town. Our experience was much like the other positive reviews. We stopped again to pick up a \picnic mista\ for our sight seeing train ride. It's old town butcher turned up.

What great place we bought a lot of sliced sausages for the train ride and some cheese. The tasting before buying would not end as he kept making us try every product they had. Add to that their home made “tea” that is guaranteed to cure any love problems! I felt bad for the locals waiting but they were smiling and seem to be really used to this.

Amazing local place. A friendly butcher gives you different types of meat, sausage and cheese to try, he also pours you a complimentary drink that he calls “ice tea” come here to get this unique authentic experience that all tourists are longing for:) we totally recommend it!
