Good for kids
Wheelchair-accessible entrance
Visited by accident, and was a very pleasant surprise. Excellent cafe, everything was immaculately clean and very reasonably priced. Plenty of space and options for walking around. Also seemed to be dog friendly. Beats a service station any day! Hopefully we can come back when the covid restrictions are relaxed and explore the dam itself.

Amazing find out on a morning walk
Found this place by accident exploring the town we were walking along the river and thought we came to a dead end. Only to find the dam in front of us climbed 100 steps to go to the level of the dam and entered. Free entry with lots of energy history and things for the kids to interact with. You can walk right along the top of the dam to the other side beautiful views along here. Recommended if your in the area.
Path - Fish Ladder with cool finish at the Dam A good place to visit for all ages. Free entry. Lots of buttons to press. Nice view of the dam, small shop, as well inside you can find a coffee shop. We enjoyed the short walk to reach the place and area surrounding.
The dam, pilotchry and surrounding area are all beautiful. The dam is impressive and the visitor centre is done very well. There is a lovely cafe which overlooks the dam. They have unfortunately closed the fish ladder observation area due to access issues, which is a shame, but there is a live recording in the visitor centre.
Brilliant! Dogs allowed in all areas with a designated area in cafe for eating with your pet. Walk from wobbly bridge to dam is beautiful. Well recommend a visit very informative with stunning views.
A very nice place to relax and grab a coffee and a sandwich with a beautiful view of the dam. During these difficult times all the staff is very professional and adhering to the safety rules, disinfecting all the tables between customers, wearing masks and making sure everyone is socially distancing, all whilst being very nice and smiling with eyes. Beautiful place, I highly recommend to everyone!
Haven’t been to Pitlochry in years so was surprised to find this new visitor centre for the dam. The visitor centre is a huge improvement on the old one. Very informative with exhibits on the building of the dam, hydro and wind power. It is also free! There is also a cafe with great views of the dam.
