Got to the lovely town of Pitlochry late this evening. Wanted something quick and hot but the traditional chip shops had all closed. Saw the Bamboo House was still open so gave it a try. Firstly two standard chips and Curry sauce was 6. That would have been acceptable however portions were tiny, chips were lukewarm and definitely not fresh peeled and fried in oil. Sadly they were of the frozen variety, no doubt bought in large bags from the Cash and Carry for little to no money. Having driven for 4 and a half hours to get to Pitlochry you can easily imagine my great dissapointment. I should have known better when there was no smell of tasty cooking food normally associated with decent takeaways. To add insult to injury there was a strong feeling of \Oh look heres another tourist they can have the poor service and food\ and hey Bamboo House you succeeded on all fronts. If I could give you a minus star score I would have. So if not a local to the area DON'T EAT HERE.
Had chicken chow mien, rice and curry sauce from this place, safe to say I wouldn’t go back! Left me in bed for two days after with food poisoning.
Not impressed at all. Ordered special fried rice. There was very little special about it with 2 or 3 prawns 3 small bits of pork and 2 small pieces of chicken
I was staying at Tay Bunkhouse and phoned this place for a delivery. I gave them my order and the address I was for them to deliver. An hour later I phoned to see if it was on it's way, which the lady replied, \it was ready\. I assumed it was on it's way. Half an hour later I phoned back up to see what was going on with it? This time the lady answering the phone said, \we don't do deliveries!\ Don't do deliveries? What have I been asking for the last 2 phone calls? Bizarre
