The service people are nice, friendly and professional. The administration staff however leave a lot to be desired. Although also very pleasant and friendly they are very unorganized. You can call and in 3x and get a different answer each time. I requested in the spring to be put on a route and have their smart device installed and was told great that will be added to your account and the discounts will apply... November rolls around and propane is getting low with no Kamps in sight. When I call in the requests I made were never applied, and they charged me full price in the Spring. It's hard to stay loyal to this company when every time I call there is an error. Even when they give you their name and swear to you that everything has been applied, it's still not and you are left paying full price, once again. I will be looking for another propane provider. As much as I'd love to support a local business, I can't keep paying for the company's mistakes.

I’ve had Kamps Propane for my home for 30 years. Good service. Prompt delivery. This week I am starting to get emails from Kamps that are alarming, asking me to write to Governor Newsom immediately because he is going to stop the use of propane in our homes. Of course this caused some high anxiety, as I have a propane cooking stove, Central heating, and hot water tank. I’m thinking thousands of dollars! I mediately went to Google to get more information on this alarming email. I found nothing. What I did find is that the governor is signing a bill to stop the sale of new gas operated cars in 15 years. It will still be used car lots. My guess would be if this email is even slightly true it’s for newly-built homes. If you read the email closely,, it sounds angry and is mostly promoting KAMPS very clean propane. It’s obvious that KAMPS is actually more concerned about KAMPS than it is its customers, and the whole thing hinted politically motivated. I don’t appreciate more anxiety-filled emails from a company I have no more of a relationship with than for them to supply my home with propane. Keep it that way.
Just had our propane delivered; different driver - and she was great! Yes, \she\ - Susan. Friendly, personable and very competent. Backed up our crazy driveway like it was nothing - Made sure i understood some of the features of the tank - best of all: she had great sense of humor!
So let me start by I have never had so many difficulties with a company and there charges. So my troubles started back in August when I moved into a property that already had Kamps. I have dealt with another company at our other rental and let me tell you they were top notch. So first of all I didnt qualify for there monthly delivery surprise surprise but when there customer service representative had such a condescending tone and a judgmental tone about my deliver it made me just avoid getting propane so we had about 60 percent at the time so I waited because I just didnt want to deal with it. So when I did call to finally commit to there minimum they neglected to tell me that what I was paying for was what the previous tenant left in the tank because they issued her a refund. So I'm thinking I'm getting 100 gallons and I only got 30 gallons. And this was back in December because I had no choice so here I am today needing my tank filled and they want to charge me almost 4.00 a gallon when department of energy has propane at 1.935 per gallon talk about price gouging when our world is in crisis. Now because I'm at 15% I have no choice but to pay almost 400 dollars to get the 100 gallons at a time when people are being sent home with no certainty of work. So as of this moment I'm waiting for a manager to call me back and explain to me how they can charge me so much per gallon when the department of energy has household propane at such a low rate. And don't get me wrong I know they have an overhead but give me a break and then they don't even have set delivery dates to be in your area like most companies shot even the trash company does. So now grant it I have to use them as long as i live at my rental but I felt I need to let others know what to expect when your just trying to stay afloat.
We purchased a home that had one of their leased tanks included. Per our purchase agreement, the tank is leased, but the propane inside, which was already paid for by the previous owner, became our property at closing, along with the connection that attaches the tank to the house line. The manager came to our home, under the guise of \inspecting\ their tank, which he did, along with every line & connection associated with the house. Something we felt quite unnecessary, but went along with out of respect. He then, again, attempted to force me to sign the agreement. I explained that to do so would be dishonest. In a very condescending manner he proceeded to threaten me with disconnection. I told him to go ahead. He disconnected & removed from the premises our pigtail connector, locked the propane in his tank, making it completely inaccessible to us. He claimed that the propane belonged to them & when I argued, he demanded that I show him the receipt wherewith I paid for the propane. Very rude! Very condescending! So here are the legal facts. First; Taking the pigtail connector is theft. Second; The burden of proof is theirs. They must show written legal authorized ownership of both the connector & the propane. They have shown nothing and have again tried to get me to sign their contract & become their customer. Unless you like being hassled and dealing with unnecessary stress, stay away from Kamp's propane. FYI: Imagine our surprise when we found that they had done our friends very similarly. To stop the hounding, our friends let them take their propane.
