This is my favorite winery in Apple Hill. Not only do they have great wine, they also have a wonderful view. They let you bring in snacks to enjoy a picnic outside and free wine tasting if you are a member (dogs allowed too outside). They have a great selection of wines with red, white, and rose. I believe all of them are rated above 90 and a lot are above 93. I highly recommend this winery.

The pulling up to the tasting room is impressive. You see the rolling Vineyards. It's beautiful. They have a placard outside explaining about the winery. There are lots of tables and grounds for ood social distancing. Service is a little slow. Only negative.

Lava cap winery has great views, friendly staff and nice wines. We located the place while passing by towards lake Tahoe. This place had cheaper rates for wine testing than most others closer to freeway. It has scenic view of vineyards and you can see birds, humming birds and enjoy your wine.

Beautiful vistas from the outside tasting area used during the Covid-19 madness at this El Dorado County winery on Apple Hill. Their Cabaret Franc was so delightful that I bought bottles to take home. The tasting and their wines are a fine place to sample, enjoy, and purchase Sierra Nevada Foothills wine. Check it out.
