I was there as a young teenager I was abused by the staff. Some of the staff were ok but pretty much all of the TSS were terrible people who had no business working in a treatment facility let alone a treatment facility with kids. The worst staff ever was Mr. Krumvita and Mr. O'Neil no idea how those 2 stayed staff there for my entire stay

My name is mariana Bordeaux i was in APA for 2 years and i was abuse by the staff and the tss. What they did to me was wrong. i never did anything to deserve this. i was wanted to leave that place because i was abuse alot from them. i had burns and bruises. i watch my peers get thrown down to. tell why are they doing this to everyone no one actually deserve this. My friend killed herself because she burns and bruises on her body and she could not handle apa anymore. she came home crying because apa abuse her. APA why are you doing this people. Stop abusing kids.

I went here when it was SD state training school / JP its probably way different now though. when I was there the ACLU was investigating them for gross abuse and everything else evil that went on there. the old gym that smelled of sewer was haunted... there was a cell area from way back in the day when it was an orphanage and some kids died in there. there were some really amazing staff members there, and then some not good ones. the arts corp program donated 3 acoustic guitars when i was there and I sort of owned one and that was the only thing that got me through there was playing/writing music. now I am a published artist on itunes spottily and pandora via DK records.. so it does have some value. I hope its better now regarding the not so great things that went on there
